Legal terms and conditions

Users of the services of UK Genealogy USA acknowledge that the research of individuals is very subjective and that the level of accuracy can only be " as most probable". Whilst acknowledging that purchases of certificates shows true data to the subject contained within the certificate, the accuracy of the connection to others mentioned within certificates is again "as most probable". Users of the services of UK Genealogy USA also accept that UK Genealogy USA have no way of knowing and therefore are not liable in any way for data that has knowingly been falsely given by any of the subjects within a certificate.

Users of the services of UK Genealogy USA acknowledge that the nature of the material used to authenticate any individual or family subject is itself subject to it being often second or third hand data, and subject to human error in its compilation. UK Genealogy USA therefore cannot guarantee the absolute accuracy of the material sources it obtains the data from.

Whilst every care is taken by UK Genealogy USA to ensure the "as most probable" is the subject required, the users of our services accept that it should be treated as "as most probable" and therefore acknowledges that no legal recourse will be able to be brought upon UK Genealogy USA if any such "as most probable" subject turns out to be incorrect.

UK Genealogy USA also strongly recommend any users of our services to seek professional legal advice before entering any course of legal action on the strength of the data obtained through using the services of UK Genealogy USA.

In all cases of research, it is the client's responsibility to keep us informed of any relevant information and or documentation that they have or obtain that could be important to the specific research we are investigating.

Where the work involves the contact with Natural Parent(s) of adoptees, all clients should note that if after UK Genealogy USA makes contact to confirm details, the Natural Parent(s) do not want direct contact with the client, UK Genealogy USA will not divulge the details. In these circumstances, the client will have the option of going through an official channel, by agreeing to a meeting with a Counsellor Agency. UK Genealogy USA will then forward its research details direct to the Counsellor Agency when they contact us.

Payment of Fees
The payment of fees is as outlined on our Web Site. In addition a surcharge may be made when payments are made because of currency exchange rates if the difference between our initial quoted rate and the rate at time of payment is greater than 3%. This is in addition to the 10% fee for handling payments made in currencies other than USA dollars $ or UK Pounds Sterling £.

When materials/documents have been ordered as part of the research, the full cost of these materials/documents is to be paid even if the client already has them but has failed to notify us of this fact.

When the work is Adoption research, in the event of the Natural Parent(s) not wishing to be contacted by the client, the appropriate fees will still be liable in full by the client. No documentation will be forwarded to the Counsellor Agency until such fees are paid in full.

We may hold Materials/documents relating to the research until clients' accounts are paid up to date.
